SapuraCrest to Buy Clough's Marine Construction Portfolio

SapuraCrest Petroleum has signed a conditional agreement to acquire Clough's marine construction and offshore engineering operations in Australia, the UK and the US for A127m ($130.6m).

The deal will allow SapuraCrest to expand its activities in subsea and deepwater segments covering offshore oil and gas production.

SapuraCrest's flagship vessel Sapura 3000 has completed the CNY512m ($80m) Devil Creek development project, which involved the transportation and installation of offshore facilities.

The vessel will also provide offshore transportation and construction activities worth CNY482m for the Montara development project and the Gorgon offshore natural gas project in Western Australia, which will begin in 2013.
